Since I used warm water in my old one, I filled the tank with warm water (I have very sensitive teeth). I have found that if you turn the dial first, you can then turn the hose flosser on better. Works beautifully. It gets between the teeth and helps to remove food particles of any kind. It takes up less space on my counter, which is good. I am very pleased.
